Conceptual Model for Integrated Production and Maintenance Planning with Automated Prognostic Method Selection

Abstract With increasing digitalization, manufacturing systems provide data to describe their current condition, allowing for a digital representation of the physical system. This enables a transition to more efficient maintenance and production planning approaches. In this context, selecting suitable prognostic methods is crucial and requires a high level of expertise and domain knowledge. This paper proposes a conceptional model for an integrated approach to solve these problems that are usually treated separately. Following an introduction of enablers for advanced maintenance strategies and prognostic methods, the conceptional model is presented. Concurrently, the state of the research of the modules is outlined. To conclude, open research questions are summarized.
