Intergenerational fairness in reforming the Canada Pension Plan.

1996
Especially for the youth there is lack of confidence in the viability of the Canada Pension Plan. The CPP review must achieve a greater sense of ownership and of intergenerational fairness. Increased contribution levels to achieve a sustainable steady state would give young people the confidence that the program will be there for them. That sacrifice should be paired with a reduction in benefits for the retired. (authors)
