Diversas aproximaciones a la estima de la consanguinidad de una población: El caso del Valle de Salazar (Navarra)

1988
SUMMARY Three different methods for the estimation of the inbreeding levels in the population of Salazar Valley (Navarre, Spain) during the three last Centuries are contrasted in this paper. These methods are: the calculation of coefficient a from ecclesiastical dispensations; the calculation of F from isonimy; and the calculation of the cumulated F due to migrations. The main conclusions of the study are: 1) The evolution of inbreeding levels estimated from three ways is enough parallel. 2) However, the values obtained from each way differ between them, although the differences are the littlest found in any population 3) The inbreeding coefficient due to population size (by genetic drift) is clearly greater than those three until the last century, what means a change in the attitude in front of consangui neous marriages.
