Time-resolved spectroscopy of chromium(III) in mullite transparent glass-ceramics
1987
Abstract The emission of 0.1 wt% chromium (III) in mullite-type glass-ceramics is compared to that in the parent glass. The thermal equilibrium between the 2 E and 4 T 2 states at 4.4 K as studied by time-resolved spectroscopy is responsible for the emission lifetimes of ≈ 9 ms in glass-ceramics and ≈ 4 ms in the parent glass.
