Static electric fields and electron capture by low-Z ions

The effect of static homogeneous electric fields on the dielectronic recombination cross section for B2+ and C3+ target ions (2s to 2p excitation) is considered. Distorted-wave theory is applied and the isolated resonance approximation is invoked.
