Physical Layer Authentication Schemes Against Clone Node and Sybil Attacks in Wireless Industrial Internet

2019
Security is becoming an increasingly important factor for any of today's wireless communications systems. For mission-critical wireless industrial networks, a new and increased level of significance is urgently required. Various cyber-attacks, such as a clone attack and sybil attack, seriously threaten industrial network security. Therefore, we propose a strategy utilizing identity and channel state information to detect clone attack and sybil attacks. Firstly, we collect identity to make a preliminary assessment between the two types of attacks. Secondly, the physical layer authentication approach is adopted to undertake attack detection, utilizing the channel state information differences between the legitimate and malicious nodes. We verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach through simulation and attack experiments.
