Random phase screen generation by covariance method

Phase screen which has same statistics as turbulence-induced atmospheric phase (vonKarman and Kolmogorov spectrum) will be generated by covariance method using pulse function as an orthonormal basis function. This method decomposes wave-front phase to a linear combination of orthonormal basis functions. According to the covariance of weight coefficient, a random wave-front phase is realized. Based on the comparison results we can conclude that the phase screen generated by covariance method is of high accuracy. For Kolmogorov spectrum, the wave-front function error of the phase screen generated by covariance method is about 1% of the averaged wave-front function value.
