Mathematical - Programming Solution of Optimum Dispatch

When solving the optimum-dispatch problem with mathematical programming techniques, powers or voltages may be used as variables. It is shown that the second approach makes for lower strorage and computational requirements, and that selection of the starting accuracy and its subsequence adaptation is decisive for convergence. Results are reported as evidence of the correctness of these conclusions.
