Comparative Analysis on the Reasonable Utilization of Various Transport Modes Based on Their Intrinsic Properties and User's Traveling Burden

Each mode in the modern transport system owns its reasonable utilization in distance-axis determined by the user's burden in travel and the relevant intrinsic properties. The degree of person's burden in travel is not always the linear changes to the duration of time, and it is possible to become fast growing with the increment of time consumption. In this paper, an evaluation criterion for investigating mode's reasonable utilization is elaborated under the analysis of mode's transport service, and the construction of parametric model to express willingness-to-pay for saving time, using the transport service charge as defined with the traveling cost and time consumption. It is possible to calculate mode's reasonable utilization corresponding to distance comparatively, according to the method proposed.
