A compact zeroth‐order directional antenna

2014
4. CONCLUSION A CPW-fed wide-slot UWB antenna with dual-band filtering characteristic has been well designed and its performance has been verified numerically and experimentally. Two filtering bands are obtained using SSIR and ARS-SIR. The operation bandwidth of the proposed antenna covers the frequency band from 2.7 to 12 GHz, with the expectation of the two filtering bands. Both simulated and measured results indicate that the proposed antenna is suitable for UWB communication applications and at the same time possesses two filtering bands between 4.8 and 6 GHz to reduce the interference from WLAN band and X-band from 7.6 to 8.6 GHz for X-band satellite communication systems.
