Comparación de juicios temporales entre adolescentes y adultos en una tarea de identificación

2016
In this work, a comparison of teenagers and adults’ performance in an identification of temporal duration’s task was conducted. With this aim, we employed a task in which the participants had to anticipate the localization of a goal shoot using a duration of a stimulus as a cue. The task allowed comparisons of the group’s performance on measures similar to bisection and generalization as well as on target hits. Contrary to reports with bisection and generalization tasks, we observed differences in the precision of temporal discrimination between groups. We argued that the task here employed increased the levels of attention and memory work demand and that these processes were involved in the observed differences in the discrimination of durations. Additionally, we detected that the greater precision of adult temporal judgments was consistent with physiological experimental reports related to attention and work memory.
