Poverty, Inequality and Unemployment: Socioeconomic Policy and Rawlsian Justice

2015
Among the main themes summarized in this chapter are those of contemporary features of poverty, unemployment and economic inequality. It is argued that these features can get worse if policies and strategies under government austerity are insensitive to the implications of such policies. In order that socioeconomic sustainability is better maintained it is suggested that adoption of the principles of Rawlsian justice be blended in the formulation of relevant financial and economic strategies.
