The oligomerization of 2-methylpentene-1 with tungsten containing metathesis catalysts☆
1986
Abstract It has been shown that 2-methylpentene-1 is oligomerized by the action of typical metathesis catalysts, forming mainly dimers and trimers. Use of strong electron donors such as dibutyl and diethyl ethers in combination with W [OCH(CH 2 Cl) 2 ] 2 Cl 4 : Al(C 2 H 5 ) 2 Cl results in a reduction of the proportion of tri-, tetra- and other higher oligomersproduced and an increase in the yield of dimer fraction. The mechanism of the oligomerization is discussed.
