This paper describes an original approach to the characterisation of acoustic foam vehicle components, discusses the parameters influencing component performance and highlights the advantages of ICI MDI based foams. The purpose of the research is to develop a flexible range of systems and technical expertise that gives a comprehensive acoustic engineering package to meet the requirements of any vehicle at specified quality standards
