A New Three-Dimensional Thermospheric Model Based on Satellite Drag Data

ABSTRACT Using satellite drag data a three-dimensional thermospheric model is developed in terms of spherical harmonics. The model gives total density, partial densities (He, O, N 2 ) and thermopause temperature as a function of solar and geomagnetic activity, local time, day of the year, altitude and latitude.
