Bond strength of 4-META acrylic resin denture base to cobalt chromium alloy

1988
S ince 1946, 95% of denture bases made in the United States have been comprised of poly(methy1 methacrylate) (PMMA).’ Most removable partial dentures incorporate a metal framework made of cobalt chromium alloy. The absence of a chemical bond between the metal framework and the resin denture base results in several unfavorable properties inherent in removable partial prostheses (and complete dentures that incorporate metal components).
