Quantifying neuromuscular rehabilitation using a muscle performance time-constant.

2019
In this study we demonstrate the development of a muscle performance metric to facilitate neurorehabilitation. The muscle performance metric measures the change in power of muscle activity over time as repetitive exercise is performed. It will be demonstrated that a time-constant can be constructed to measure progress of muscle activity based on the exercise. We will present herein that this metric is consistent with an exercise and can be used to predict outcomes. We propose that this muscle performance metric can be used to optimize therapeutic interventions and to design user-specific performance targets based on exercise strategies.
