Determination of Chlorine Dioxide in Ambient and Polluted Air by Ultraviolet Spectrophotometry

In this paper,KI was used to absorb Chlorine Dioxide in ambient and polluted air.ClO 2- formed in absorption was analyzed and determined by ultraviolet spectrophotometry.The findings indicate that the method is easily operational,sensitive and precise;if a flow of0.5L/min lasts for thirty minutes,the sample collection is98%and the minimum detection limit is0.073mg /m 3 ;the recovery of the added standard samples is90.0%～97.3%.Chlorine in the air does not have an evident impact upon the determination of Chlorine Dioxide in ambient and polluted air.
