Intracavity frequency doubling of Nd:YVO/sub 4/ disk laser with periodically poled KTiOPO/sub 4/

2000
Summary form only given. Intracavity frequency doubling is a standard technique to achieve high-efficiency visible light generation employing cw near-infrared lasers. Periodically poled bulk KTiOPO/sub 4/ (PPKTP) has a number of attractive features, such as, relatively high optical nonlinearities for noncritical interaction, high photorefractive damage threshold, and it can be advantageous for intracavity visible light generation. Here we report on the generation of watt-level power at 532 nm by intracavity frequency doubling of a laser-diode pumped cw Nd:YVO/sub 4/ disk laser using PPKTP.
