Effect of Arc Surface Remelting on the Corrosion Resistance of 0Cr19Ni9 TIG Welding Joint

2000
The corrosion resistance of the 0Cr19Ni9 tungsten inert gas (TIG) arc welding joints with and without 4A micro plasma arc surface remelting was studied in this paper The results show that the corrosion resistance of the heat affected zone (HAZ) and the weld is decr eased compared with the base metal It is found that after remelting, the microstructure is refined and the microsegregation is eliminated As a result, the corrosion resistance of the joint is significantly improved
