Comparison of flameless atomic absorption spectrophotometry and anodic stripping voltammetry for the determination of blood lead

1987
Abstract Three different procedures, based on electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETA-AAS) and anodic stripping voltammetry (ASV) methods for blood lead are presented. Atomic absorption procedure is simple and quite rapid using a dilution with a matrix modifier as the only sample preparation. An easy digestion method of samples and a quicker direct one are adopted in the electrochemical determinations. Precision and accuracy are evaluated by blood samples from reference standard materials. Detection limit values demonstrate the applicability of the methods to lead blood determinations.
