Not surprisingly, in surgery new solutions are explored and new methods are developed when the available techniques are not entirely satisfactory and results are suboptimal. A strong motivation to look for alternative options can also be determined by the complexity of the currently used procedures, particularly demanding, time consuming, and difficult to reproduce.
