Design and implementation of fault simulation device for micro ring resonator based on SGM3157

2019
Photonic Network-On-Chip (PNOC) has become a new research frontier and hot spot in multidisciplinary intersecting. Micro ring resonator (MRR) is a key device in PNOC. However, MRR is very sensitive to the fluctuation of temperature, and it is easy to be faulty, resulting in a sharp decline of performance and reliability in PNOC. Therefore, MRR fault detection has become a very important and urgent problem. How to detect MRR fault is the key to improve the reliability of PNOC, and the MRR fault simulator is the key to verify the MRR fault detection. To the best of our knowledge, there is little work so far to tackle MRR fault simulators issues. First of all, this paper designs the fault model of MRR, and then gives the design principle of MRR fault simulator. The designed device can be divided into four parts: fault simulator module, fault processing module, display module and fault setting module. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed device can realize the arbitrary setting of the fault location of MRR, switching of different fault simulator module and fault judgment and display. The experimental results prove the validity of the fault simulator designed in this paper.
