BICIKLISTIČKE PROMETNICE U FUNKCIJI POVEZIVANJA PRIGRADSKIH NASELJA S GRADOM OSIJEKOM

With the increase in the number of cyclists in the Republic of Croatia the demand for properly planned, designed and constructed bicycle roads is high. Planning encompasses a process in which various factors such as attractivnees, comfort, saftey, directness and cohesion are taken into account and have major impact on the creation of a quality network of cycling routes in the future. When designing bicycle roads the rules of the profession must be followed and the technical regulations and laws that ensure equal quality of all newly constructed and reconstructed bicyle roads must be strictly observed. In oreder to enable further development of cycling as a type of transport it is necessary to analyze the already existing bicycle roads and thus to identify critical points in the planning, design and construction, which will be seen in the creation of new items of technical regulations and if necessaary the change of old ones. In this paper, on the example of the bicycle road connecting Brijesce- city of Osijek, the situation of the bicycle road will be analyzed with reference to the existing regulation.
