A Vibration-based Monitoring System for Transmission Tower Settlement

In view of the settlement problem of transmission tower foundation, the excitation device is used to generate impulse excitation, and the transmission tower vibrates under impulse excitation. The vibration characteristics of transmission towers under impulse excitation are experimentally measured. In this paper, the conductor spanning 105m at Xi'an Polytechnic University are measured and analyzed. Firstly, the excitation device, acceleration sensor and condition monitoring device are installed on the transmission tower. Secondly, the excitation device generates impulse excitation, and the acceleration sensor collects the impulse response of the tower in real time. Then, the settlement of the tower is simulated manually. Finally, the natural frequencies of the transmission tower under impulse excitation before and after settlement are extracted by modal analysis, and the relationship between the natural frequencies of each mode is analyzed. A set of complete on-line monitoring system for transmission tower settlement is established, and the online monitoring of transmission towers is realized.
