Unlocking NATO's Amphibious Potential: Lessons from the Past, Insights for the Future

Researchers analyze the past, present, and future employment of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's amphibious forces, provide a summary of individual members' readiness, highlight ongoing initiatives, and identify several lines of effort to advance the Alliance's amphibious capabilities. The Alliance should continue developing brigade and multi-brigade capabilities while aggressively experimenting with emerging concepts and technologies.
