Морские охраняемые акватории Крыма: научный справочник

2015
For the first time, this handbook summarizes data about 34 marine protected areas (MPAs) of the Crimea, which are part of national and regional protected areas. There are species compositions of flora and fauna, and various protected species and habitats; costal-aquatic landscapes are described, along with threats and prospects of development for MPAs and the various types of nature uses. Information is also given on the regulatory framework for the functioning of protected areas, current national and international legislation in the field of environmental protection, a glossary and a list of references. The Handbook is beautifully illustrated, with map showing the location of the objects, pictures of major protected species of plants and animals listed in the Red Book of Russia, Red Book of the Crimea, Black Sea Red Data Book, Red List Habitats of Europe, and other useful source information. This book is intended for ecologists, hydrobiologists, and environmental managers. It will also be useful for teachers, graduate students, tourists and anyone who is interested both in the protection of nature, and who loves Crimea and hopes to maintain its natural balance. This publication commemorates the 145th anniversary of The A.O. Kovalevsky Institute of Marine Biological Research of Russian Academy of Sciences, Sevastopol (formerly named Sevastopol Biological Station and The A.O. Kovalevsky Institute of Biology of the Southern Seas).
