Linear varactor upconverters for use in digital microwave radio

1988
Frequency upconverters used on modern digital radios, must achieve a high degree of linearity. The theory and design of such an upconverter using a varactor diode is explained. A comparison is made between theoretical design and practical results for an upconverter operating in the range 3.8 to 4.2 GHz.
