Eddy-current losses due to alternating magnetic pulses

A periodic nonsinusoidal analysis of the penetration of a sequence of alternating rectangular magnetic pulses into a conductor infinitely extended over a half-space is investigated. Power influx by Poynting vector, per unit area of the conducting half-space and active power losses due to eddy-currents are calculated. A series representation of the periodic nonsinusoidal penetration depth in terms of tabulated gamma and zeta functions is obtained
