Research on Impacts of Photovoltaic Connected to Rural Grid Considering Time-varying Characteristic

2018
With the promotion of photovoltaic (PV) poverty alleviation projects in rural areas, integration of large-scaled photovoltaic will certainly have impacts on safe and stable operation of the power grid. According to field research, this paper sorts out the typical interconnection forms of PVs for photovoltaic poverty alleviation areas. The software DIg SILENT PowerFactory is used for the simulation of the rural distribution network while considering connections from PVs at different penetration rates and interconnection forms. The paper fully considers the time-varying characteristics of the photovoltaic power and load power output. Calculation and analysis of practical engineering in northern China are carried out in this paper. After analyzing the impacts on voltage, consumption and lines under different scenarios, the maximum integration capacity of the PV generation in photovoltaic poverty alleviation areas can be obtained. Analysis results show that the main factor limiting integration capacity of centralized integration is local consumption. The main factor limiting integration capacity of decentralized integration is voltage deviation.
