A preliminary study on the structure and dynamics of the Tsuga tchekiangensis population on Maorshan mountain

The result shows that the reproduction capacity of the Tsuga tchekiangensis have begun to decrease seriously since 100 years ago. Now the size-class structure of Tsuga tchekiangensis are changing from increasing to decreasing pattern. The level distribution pattern of the whole population of Tsuga tchekiangensis is clumped pattern, but different sizes of them tend to be a uniform pattern or a poisson pattern. The reproduction capacity of the Tsuga tchekiangensis population on Maorshan Mountain is very weak. it can^t have a change for the better for Tsuga tchekiangensis population. All kinds of saving tree methods are sought. Maybe improving the reproduction capacity of the tree is the key way.
