Research on Optimal Scheduling of Power System with High-penetration Renewable Energy Considering Flexibility of Power Supply Side and Load Side

2019
The integration of high shares of variable renewable energy (VRE) makes the system’s uncertainty increase sharply. It is technically and economically unsustainable to adopt traditional system reserve methods to cope with uncertainties. Fully exploiting various flexible resources to adapt to high shares of VRE is an important issue in the operational planning of future power systems. This paper considers the demand response to establish the power system flexibility adequacy assessment indicators on power supply side and load side. Secondly, in order to reflect the contribution of multi-type flexible resources to the improvement of system flexibility, a flexible resource contribution evaluation index is built. Then, the system flexibility adequacy index is included in the constraint conditions, and a flexible optimization scheduling model of power system with high penetration of wind power considering the flexibility of power supply side and load side is established. Finally, based on IEEE39 system, the related indicators and scheduling optimization methods proposed in this paper are verified. The example shows that the optimization method proposed in this paper can effectively reduce system reserve and flexible scheduling various flexible resources to reduce renewable energy curtailment. In addition, with the increase of wind power penetration rate, the demand response is more and more important to the flexibility of the power system, especially the downward flexibility.
