RF-heated Bridgman growth of (ZnSe)1−x (MnSe)x in self-sealing graphite crucibles

Abstract A method for growing single crystals of the (ZnSe) 1- x (MnSe) x solid solution series over the entire allowable range, 0≤ x ≤0.57 is described. The crystals were grown by a novel vertical Bridgman method in RF-heated, self-sealing graphite crucibles at 1600°C without the use of any high pressure containment apparatus.
