Study on Aging Evaluation Method of Silicone Rubber in Dongguan

The aging phenomenon of silicone rubber will occur during the operation of composite insulator, which is related to the operating period and operating environment. In order to evaluate the aging of silicone rubber of composite insulators in Dongguan, the changes in macroscopic properties such as hardness of aging silicone rubber were studied at first. And then three kinds of microscopic analysis methods (NMR, TGA and FTIR) were used to study the changes of silicone rubber. The results showed that the transverse relaxation time, ratio of residual mass and absorption peak of $Si(-CH_{3})_{2}$ also had similar changes with operating periods, which proved the feasibility and correctness of color difference analysis. Therefore, a method for evaluating the aging of silicone rubber of composite insulators suitable for Dongguan was presented.
