Methods of improving Secrecy Transmission Capacity in wireless random networks

Abstract This paper analyzes the Secrecy Transmission Capacity (STC) over wireless networks, where the legitimate nodes and eavesdroppers are distributed following Poisson point processes. Based on the tools of stochastic geometry, we first derive the Connection Outage Probability (COP) and the bounds of the Secrecy Outage Probability (SOP), and establish a theoretical framework for analyzing STC under the Nearest Receiver Transmission (NRT) model. Different from existing works that provided only a method of calculating COP, SOP and STC, in this paper, we introduce two types of schemes (Legitimate Protected Zone (LPZ) and Localized Interferers Selection (LIS)) to decrease COP, SOP and increase STC. Extensive simulations are carried out to validate the findings of our theoretical analyses. Compared to the existing schemes, the results here indicate that the designed LPZ and LIS are effective in achieving a higher STC, and we also outline their application scenarios and deficiencies.
