Reading A True Story from the Perspective of Iser

In A True Story, "I repeated word for word" the story about a black woman who is a victim of slavery but strong and optimistic in life. Its author, Mark Twain, is very good at using language to portray different figures from different ranks and deeply expose the truth of American life. The essay tries to analyze different perspectives of the text from the act of reading by Iser, finding out that the problem of racialism stays only in a narrative sphere and on the side of the white, while its textual meaning fails to make its seriousness and truth unmasked wholly.
