On the role played by some natural products, with aromatic structure, in processes of plant growing

1994
Polyphenolic products extracted from beach oak and spruce bark wood, either unmodified or modified through oxidation, have been employed in experiments of bean and millet seed germination. The observation was made that the favourable action manifested by the isolated products depends on their nature, as well as on the modification had in view. Also, for each of the compounds tested, a maximum activity is recorded within a certain domain of concentration, evidencing a similar action to that of the plant growth hormones.
