Ion composition of saturated vapor of salt systems: Calculation of the work function and ion pressure

The quantitative relationship of pressure (activity a) of alkali metals M and the work function φ of the effusion chamber inner surface, φ = φ(M) − kTlna(M), is studied. The experimental data on the pressure values of ions proved that the equation can be applied in practice.
