Light-Dependent Growth and Differentiation Processes in Photoautotrophic Cell Cultures

Photoautotrophic growth of in vitro cultured plant cells has been achieved for about 23 different plant species. The physiological and biochemical characteristics of photoautotrophically cultured plant cells have been intensively studied (1, 2, 3, 4) and gave some valuable informations for a better understanding of basic questions about photoautotrophy.
