Biological safey evaluation of modified PPC as a new biodegradable material

Objective To make a new biodegradable material,polypropylene-carbonate(Modified PPC) and to evaluate its biological safety.Methods Modified PPC was a new biodegradable material generated by mixing of PPC and poly β-hydroxybutyrate(PHB).The evaluation experiments included:acute toxicity test,pyrogenic test,cell toxicity texted by methyl thazolyl tetrazolium(MTT) assaying,hemolysis test and skin stimulation test.Results Modified PPC had no generaltoxic reaction,no heat source,no cytotoxicity,no skin simulation and had favourable blood compatibility.Conclusion Modified PPC has satisfactory biological safety.
