On the surface waves spreading along the gradient layers of intermittent compositional structures

2012
The theoretical research of spreading of surface waves in layered periodic compositional structures on the base of gradient media was made and the results of it were presented in this work. Dielectric susceptibility of elementary layers which constitute the period of reviewed structure was described by generalized profiles. Matrix equations which connect the wave amplitudes with each other in every simple zones of periodic structure were researched. Dispersion equation which determines the spectrum of cross wave constant was solved. It was made with the account of relay symmetry in waveguide layers. And also we must point that this spectrum conformed to Bloch’s wave constants. On the basis of it the influence of the gradient parameters of dielectric susceptibility to values of imaginary part of complex Bloch’s wave constants in the center of the front no transmittance band in cross intermittent medium was investigated. Cross components of electric field for first magnetic surface waves along the direction of periodicity of compositional structure were found and investigated. All theoretical results were illustrated by graphics material.
