Tools for the design integration of the ITER power supplies and electrical installations

2011
Abstract The ITER power supplies and electrical installations are characterised by a large number of electrical components connected by complex and large networks of cables and busbars. A substantial proportion of the detailed design work will be performed by the domestic agencies (DA) with the support of their contractor's. Work coordination, design integration and standardisation are the challenges that the ITER Organization (IO) has to face. To ensure efficient collaboration between IO, DAs and the contractors, the IO has selected a set of tools for the execution of the electrical engineering analyses, production of circuit diagrams and design of the cable routing and the layout integration. Moreover, to ensure the consistency of the project, tools for data synchronisation and automatic consistency verifications have been developed and put in place by the IO. This paper describes the standard commercial tools adopted by the IO, the integration procedures and the tools specifically developed by the IO to support the design integration of the ITER power supplies and electrical installations.
