Measurements of SPEAR beam polarization using a back-scattering laser technique

Fast beam‐polarization measurements have been made at the SPEAR e+e− storage ring by observing the up‐down asymmetry in the distribution of laser photons back‐scattering from the circulating positrons. The technique is described, and sample preliminary results are presented and discussed.
