Deuils particuliers et créativité dans l'intervention

2001
In her reflections on working with terminally ill patients in a palliative care unit, the author considers the presence of children, especially very young ones, and their characteristic effect on elderly and seriously ill patients to bring them light and hope in their last moments. She illustrates the various roles of music and imagery as these can answer the multidimensional needs of patients and their near relatives, giving them comfort and producing emotionally-related expression of their inner life and conflicts. She further advocates for the right of children to be informed and get involved in the experiences of loss and mourning as they can actually contribute to this experience that bind individuals and family together and should recollect later these privileged moments with a loved figure.
