Proceedings of the 11th ANZAM Operations, Supply Chain and Services Management Symposium

2013
The ANZAM Operations, Supply Chain and Services Management Symposium series has provided the opportunity for academics and practitioners to share their research, knowledge and practical experiences in operations, supply chain and service management. These symposia have contributed greatly to considerable progress being made towards these areas becoming a recognised discipline worthy of serious scholarship and establishing its own body of knowledge. The 2013 Symposium hosted by The University of Queensland Business School will continue this tradition with a theme of Research Industry Partnership. A new category of Professional Practice papers has been introduced to encourage contributions from professionals on current issues and best practice. Sessions will be scheduled thematically to encourage discussion between researchers presenting peer-reviewed papers and professionals working in similar areas. This partnership of research and practice is ever more necessary in a rapidly changing world. Challenges in the field arise from rapidly changing technology, the continuing move to health and service operations, sustainability, humanitarian recovery, the uncertainty following the global financial crisis and the rebalancing of economic growth to an Asian-Pacific century.
