La investigación científica-tecnológica como eje formativo para la licenciatura de Psicología en México

The aim of this paper was to perform a critical analysis of the current situation of psychologists’ training in Mexico. It is important to note the possible fragmentation of psychology as a product of the lack of consensus regarding the delimitation of its object of study. This was related to the creation of the curricula for the bachelor’s degree in psychology, the number of institutions that offer the carrer, the demand of students, the functions that the psychologist performs, and her/his average salary. From the analysis, it is proposed the strategy of taking into consideration the scientific-technological research as an axis that guides the elaboration of study plans for the career. In conclusion, it is recommended that curricula be developed based on training experts in scientific-technological research, without limiting the field of action to particular or terminal areas.
