Characterization of the Gain Variation of a Generic Monopole Antenna due to Interferers of Out of Band Resonant Frequencies
2019
When multiple antennas are installed on a platform, the radiation pattern of an antenna is affected by the proximity of nearby antennas. The operating frequency / resonant length of the nearby antenna and the inter antenna spacing are the key factors causing variation in radiation pattern. This paper summarizes the dependence of radiation pattern of a monopole over a ground plane on the frequency, size and separation of the interfering monopole. The dependence of mutual coupling between the antennas on the gain variation is also studied.
