A Survey on Rubella Virus in Pregnant Women in Kaduna, Nigeria

This book is about a research on rubella virus and antibodies among pregnant women in Kaduna State Nigeria. The research was done by selecting three primary health care facilities per one Local Government Area (LGA) and each LGA from one out of the three Senatorial District. These include Zaria for northern senatorial district, Jama’a for southern senatorial district and Igabi for central senatorial district. Pregnant women were selected and tested using Rapid Diagnostic Test kit (RDT) for Rubella virus antibodies Immunoglobulin G (IgG) which signifies previous infection to Rubella Virus and Immunoglobulin M (IgM) Which signifies recent or on going infect of rubella virus. Other tests carried out include Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and Molecular Detection Sequencing.
