Studying the Dynamic Properties of Thermoelectric Fire Detectors in Terms of False Tripping of an Air Fire Suppression System

2020
The paper presents selected results of studies at the Polish Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) concerning the modelling of the dynamic properties of fire detectors used in aircraft fire suppression systems. In order to determine the conditions of false fire signals, the simulation models of thermoelectric fire detectors have been developed. Simulation models were tested in Matlab-Simulink computing packages for various methods of heating and cooling of the detectors (among others, changes in ambient air temperature of the detector, caused by the EWU exhaust gas diffusers were simulated—these diffusers are used to distribute flue gases from helicopter engines).
