Photoluminescence Enhancement Phenomena in Photonic Crystal Slabs Formed on Si Structures with the Self-Assembled Ge Nanoislands

The strong enhancement of photoluminescence intensity was observed in photonic crystal slabs realized on Si structures with the self-assembled Ge nanoislands. The observed phenomena are described in terms of the nanoislands — photonic crystal modes interaction.
